Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Police state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the substance was likely human blood.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the event," they added.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.
A senior official commented the attack made him stunned and had to be solved promptly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
